need. With a mission to help residents experiencing hardships, the state of Michigan created a website called Helping Hand. Serving as quick referral service, Helping Hand assists individuals in finding information about programs and services that are available throughout various Michigan counties. By simply clicking on one of the five specifically labeled tabs featured on the homepage or by searching the site, individuals can find information and services related to health care, family support, housing assistance, jobs and training programs and unemployment benefits.

To learn more about Helping Hand or begin your search for assistance, visit www.michigan.gov/helpinghand/. As you search, please be aware that eligibility requirements may vary per program.

Although the Helping Hand website provides a list of a variety of programs and services available throughout Michigan, it only represents a portion of the services available to Michigan residents. To find additional services that may be available in your area, contact your county’s local United Way 2-1-1 Call Center.
