Unfortunately, due to a variety of circumstances and hardships, many mothers find it increasingly hard to protect and provide for the ones they love. At the Memphis Family Shelter, women who are experiencing a major crisis in their lives are provided with the tools they need to create a new beginning for themselves as well as their families. Serving as a non-profit organization, Memphis Family Shelter opened its doors to help women in need over 20 years ago.

Through the Memphis Family Shelter, homeless mothers and their children are provided with transitional housing and a variety of supportive services to assist them as they work to achieve independent living. In addition to offering housing and support services, Memphis Family Shelter offers children a safe and nurturing environment to grow and learn. The shelter also provides a well-rounded learning program to help mothers reach their goals.

Since opening its door to mother in need, the Memphis Family Shelter has helped over 200 homeless women create a new beginning for themselves as well as their children. Recognizing that individuals can become homeless due to a variety of circumstances, the Memphis Family Shelter serves all women who are experiencing a major crisis in their lives. This includes women who’ve been driven from their homes due to domestic violence, women in emergency shelters and women with no other place to go.
