You're Not Miles Apart

When you find out your child has been diagnosed with Autism (a lifelong disability) it can seem like you're miles apart from the rest of the world. Your life can become stressful, discouraging and lonely. However, it doesn't have to be that way with the help of a Georgia based organization, the Myles-A-Part Foundation. Myles-A-Part Foundation is a non-profit organization that exists to provide financial and emotional support to families facing Autism. It was founded by the mother of autistic child, Myles Dula. At this time they do not have financial stipends available; however, if you would like to join their mailing list, you can receive monthly alerts on events and developments such as when the first stipends will be offered to families. There are a couple of programs that Myles-A-Part will provide to families. Thrive, the Hourglass Early Intervention Program, the Autism Initiative for Minorities and free marriage retreats help families adjust to their different way of life. The retreat for married couples is actually coming up soon. The weekend provides a time for those who are raising children on the spectrum to refresh themselves, spend time with other couples on similar journeys in a relaxed setting and reconnect with each other. Space is limited so if you are interested, please complete and submit your application by Thursday, September 30. If you would like more information about the retreat or the various programs and services that Myles-A-Part offers, you can contact someone by calling 678-575-0014 or by emailing Tina Dula at This email address is being protected from spambots.
