Interpreters are provides for all area courts, human service provides, hospitals, police, and employers. They are scheduled as needed, whether it's for an ongoing appointment or one hour. Emergency interpreters are also available 24-7. Most interpreters who work for DSC have a minimum of three years of professional experiences and/or are graduates of an accredited interpreter program. In 2008 over 7800 appointments were made and 18,000 hours of interpreting services were provided. DSC believes that people who are deaf or hard of hearing have a right to fully participate in the management and development of the services that impact their lives. As a result, the Board of Trustees consists of more than 50% of deaf individuals. You can sign up online to receive assistance from this organization. You may also reach them by phone at 614-841-1991. These services may require a fee, so when you contact them, please inquire about potential rates.
