Pet Food Pantry
The Baldwin County Humane Society (BARC!) has partnered with local community food banks to provide the regions first pet food pantry. One of BARC's missions is to educate the community in the humane control and care of all animals. Ensuring that pets receive the proper nutrients they need is one of the most basic and critical aspects of animal welfare. Many families have to make the tough decision to give up their pets because they can't afford to feed both their families and pets. However, with the help of this program, having to make that decision is no longer necessary. The Pet Food Pantry was created to assist income-eligible families in providing food for their dogs and cats so families won't have to give up their pets. Each week families and individuals within the local community donate all types of pet food including both dry and canned food for dogs, cats, puppies and kittens. The pet food pantry and distribution is an on-going program with various distribution locations. To find out more about the pet food pantry, please call Maddie and Frank Temonia at (251) 990-2700.
