Here's a program that may be useful to those in the New Orleans, LA area who are waiting for their Social Security Disability benefits to process: Having a disability can often times cause an individual and their family financial strain. In an effort to help individuals in need of temporary assistance, The Jefferson Community Action Programs (JEFFCAP) in New Orleans provides various programs to help families and individuals remain on their feet and become self sufficient. The mission of JEFFCAP is to empower as many residents of Jefferson Parish as possible through its various programs and services. This includes elderly individuals, individuals with disabilities, those who are economically disadvantaged as well as the youth.
