Hard of Hearing?

Here's a program for individuals in the Memphis, TN area who suffer from a disabling hearing loss: Individuals who suffer from loss of hearing face difficult communication challenges. Having a lack of hearing can present limitations that may affect an individual's speech capabilities, relationships, ability to complete education, employment and general well being. Recognizing the unique need of these individuals, Tennessee's Department of Human Services has created a new component that offers specialized vocational rehabilitation services through their Division of Rehabilitation Services. Through the program, eligible clients who are deaf or hard of hearing are paired with trained Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors. The Counselors will assist the clients in overcoming their communication challenges by offering services to help them improve their skills needed to enter, retain or return to competitive employment. Although services are individualized and tailored to each client's personal needs, they generally include:753468_ear.jpg
