Hope for the Hungry

The following organization provides food assistance to families and individuals in the Baton Rouge, LA area: Are you facing a temporary crisis and need help to make ends meet? Look no further! Through partnerships with local agencies, churches and other social service organizations, The Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank strives to be the missing link between hunger and hope. With a mission to feed the hungry, The Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank helps families and/or individuals in meeting their short-term nutritional needs by providing food and educational outreach. The purpose of The Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank is to acquire and store food and other products that are donated from various resources. The food is then distributed to member agencies that provide the food to clients in need throughout the Food Bank's service area. Parishes included in the Food Bank's service area are:

  • Ascension
  • Assumption
  • East Baton Rouge
  • East Feliciana
  • Iberville
  • Livingston
  • Point Coupee
  • St. Helena
  • St. James
  • West Baton Rouge
  • West Feliciana
