Jimmie Hale Mission Helps Those in Birmingham
The following organization may be helpful to those in need of shelter in the Birmingham, AL area: Located in downtown Birmingham, the Jimmie Hale Mission has been helping and influencing the area's homeless for several years. The Mission has many specific programs that help homeless individuals get stability back into their lives through shelter, counseling and educational programs. Below is a list of programs that the Jimmie Hale Mission offers to those in need:
• Shepura's Men's Center - New campus that consists of 160 beds, clothing distribution, counseling and education services and a dining hall that serves over 10,000 per month. • Jessie's Place - Homeless shelter for women and children that houses up to 35 individuals for an average of three to six months. • Stewart Learning Centers - Offers education remediation and career readiness. Through learning the basics, finances and work habits, individuals find self-worth and self-confidence. • Royal Pines Recovery Center - Provides a 16 week, in-resident recovery center for men to help them overcome life's struggles. The program allows men to focus on their problems and possible solutions and receive help before ending up on the street. • Mission Possible Bargain Centers - People can get a bargain by shopping for quality used items such as furniture, household items and clothing. New items are also available for reasonable prices. There are several locations in the Birmingham area.
