Although Abilities First began as a small group of parents seeking quality care for their children, it has expanded to offer a variety of services to assist children and adults with special needs in reaching their full potential. With over 50 years of experience, Abilities First has been the leader in providing services to children and adults with disabilities, developmental delays, language and cognitive impairments and other special needs.

Abilities First offers its services to clients throughout Butler, Warren, Montgomery, and Hamilton, Preble, Greene and Clark counties in Ohio.  Services offered through Abilities First include:

· Residential Care – Through two facilities, Abilities First provides continuous, high quality care to children and adults with varying degrees of developmental disabilities in a home-like setting.411998 preschool_girl_learning_3

· Early Childhood Learning Center – Welcoming both children with special needs and traditional needs, ECLC provides a positive, caring and nurturing learning environment where children are free to be themselves and develop at their own pace.

· Adult Day Program – By offering community inclusion, independent living, social and vocational skills, the goal of ADP is to enhance the lives of people with disabilities while promoting independence and inclusion of people with disabilities.

· Specialized Therapeutic and Educational Preschool (STEP) Program – The goal of the STEP program is to promote successful transition into kindergarten for children with Autism or those who are on the Autism Spectrum.

· Employment Services – Through the Employment Services Program, Abilities First helps youth and adults with disabilities find meaningful employment in the community.

· Pediatric Therapies – The purpose of Pediatric Therapy is to provide Occupational, Physical and Speech Therapy to help children reach their potential and overcome their challenges.

· Summertime Therapy Program – Designed and led by licensed therapists, the Summertime Therapy program offers a variety of therapeutic programs to children with special needs.
