Helping those Hardest Hit
If you or someone you know is having a hard time keeping up with their mortgage payments in the state of Alabama, the following organization may be able to assist you.
The difficult economic conditions over the past few years have affected many Americans causing them to become unemployed or underemployed. With this being said, it is no surprise that some homeowners have gotten behind on their mortgage payments. Hardest Hit of Alabama (HHA) is a federally-funded program committed to provide assistance to those currently drawing unemployment compensation to prevent the foreclosure of their homes within the state. The fund was created in February 2010 by an endowment from the U.S. Department of Treasury under the Emergency Economic Stabilization act of 2008. Eligible applicants receive help with their current mortgage, and HHA will contribute up to twelve monthly payments up to $15,000 per household.
