If you are in need of public assistance, but are unsure where to begin? The following service can help, and is only a phone call away:
Finding the assistance that you need can be difficult. Thanks to Louisiana’s 232-HELP/211 system, those in need are able to obtain information on various services. 2-1-1 provides information to individuals, families and government agencies. Listed below is a list of services in which information is provided:
- Rent assistance
- Food banks
- Affordable housing
- Health resources
- Child care
- After-school programs
- Elderly care
- Financial literacy
- Job training programs
The hours of operation are Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-4:30 pm. They also have a 24 hour on-call service center. They are located at 1005 Jefferson Street in Lafayette Louisiana. In addition to information and referral, 232-HELP/211 also offers various in-house programs, as well as maintains a resource library with videos, brochures and many publications.
