Casa de Maryland (House of Maryland) is a community organization that provides a variety of services to minority communities throughout the Baltimore-DC metro area. Since its creation in 1985, when thousands of Central American refugees were pouring into the capitol, Casa of Maryland has targeted its services individuals and families living in ethnically diverse communities--especially women, low-income people, and workers—regardless of their immigration status.

Education and ESOL Classes:
The Education and Leadership department of Casa de Maryland offers classes and materials to help improve the quality of life for low-income individuals, women, and day laborers. These classes include citizen preparation, home improvement licensures preparation, computer clases and seven levels of ESOL. Alud Es Vida – “Health Is Life” Program :
This program serves to fulfill public health and primary medical needs in diverse immigrant communities. Alud Es Vida provides access to health screening and treatment services for cancer, HIV and tobacco use prevention. Casa also offers a bilingual telephone health line to provide community members with medical interpretation and public health services in their area.
Casa Discount Club:
Casa de Maryland established a discount club for their members and small businesses participants. This discount club allows its members to receive up to 20% discounts from a variety of local businesses—salons, restaurants, dentists, tax services, pharmacies, etc. For more information about membership and the discount club, visit their membership page at www.casademaryland.org/membership
