Meeting Families Immediate Needs

The City Mission has been helping society’s sidelined for well over a century.  Today, The City Mission stands out as a comprehensive ministry purposed to meet the needs of thousands of individuals and families in Northeastern Ohio.  They help individuals and families, not only with their immediate needs, but also offer a continuum of care.  By doing this, the mission allows those disadvantaged to achieve the goals of maintaining a productive, stable life.

FamilyCrossroads Men’s Crisis Center and Laura’s Home Women’s Crisis Center:

These two crisis centers aim to help men, women and children in the Cleveland area with not only physical needs like food, shelter, and basic necessities.  They offer a 180-day long-term program, which provides 180 days of shelter to men and women, life skills training courses, educational classes, case management resources, and job placement assistance. Graduates are honored at the end of the program with an annual commencement ceremony.

A woman can call (216) 472-5500 and press 4 on the day that she needs shelter. Rooms are not reserved. Accommodations allow only one family per room or suite. Four rooms are ADA equipped.

A man can call (216) 431-3510 and press 5 on the day that he needs shelter. If beds are available, he or she will be told the time to arrive, what to bring and what not to bring.

Pathways Family Outreach Services:

Pathways Family Outreach Services offers a suite of multi-faceted programs geared to youth and their families.  Pathways have afterschool drop-in centers for grades -12.  These drop-in centers provide a safe and supervised place for kids to play and learn after regular school hours. Participants in the weekday drop-in or Saturday club are also eligible for Pathways Music Connection, which offer students free music instruction lessons in the violin, viola, guitar, piano and drums.

Pathways encourages interaction between parents and their children.  For this, they offer Mother’s and Father’s clubs where mothers and fathers can hang out and discuss topics related to teaching and guiding their children as they grow.
