Founded in 1980, Capital Area Food Bank annually distributes nearly 30 million pounds of food to more than 478,000 people through the help of their partner agencies. Due to tough economic times, rising unemployment rates and high food prices, nearly 633,000 Washington area residents are left hungry. This organization strives to uplift those in need by providing them with the best services possible. They are committed to help nourish and empower individuals, families and the community by providing them with healthy food, nutrition education and advocacy for those at risk of hunger.
