Your "Ticket to Work"

Are you interested in rejoining the workforce but limited in what you can do due to a disability? If so, the Social Security Administration (SSA) may have a program just for you!

Being able to work while receiving disability benefits is often viewed as "taboo". Many individuals with disabilities fear that they will lose their disability benefits if they return to work. In an effort to help individuals with disabilities who are interested in working, the SSA offers a variety of work incentives programs. One of the work incentive programs offered through the SSA is the Ticket to Work program. Through this program individuals are provided with the employment support they need to succeed on the job while continuing to receive their disability benefits.

To better assist individuals in understanding the Ticket to Work program, the SSA is offering a free National Work Incentives Seminar Event (WISE) Webinar on Wednesday, September 28 at 3:00pm (EST). 73527_hand_with_ticket_2.jpgThrough the national WISE webinar, individuals will be provided with information about special Social Security programs and rules that may apply to them due to their medical condition. Individuals will also learn more about the Ticket to Work Program and Work Incentives from Work Incentives Planning & Assistance Project staff as well as representatives from Employment Networks. Topics discussed through the webinar will include:

  • Information on Ticket to Work and Work Incentives
  • Answers to frequently asked questions and concerns
  • Where to find more information and assistance

For more information about the webinar or to register for the webinar call 866-968-7842 or 866-833-2967 (TTY). Individuals can also register for the webinar online by clicking here.
