Here's a program that may be useful to families of children who are in need of medical assistance: Do you believe in magic? The staff and doctors of the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile do! The state-of-the-art pediatric mobile care facility has 31 networks in the United States, which provides services at little to no cost to those ages 18 and under. Each Care Mobile is 40 feet long and 8 feet wide and includes two patient examination rooms, a lab, reception and medical record areas. The goal of the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile program is to provide access to healthcare where children need it the most. The staff and doctors who work on the Care Mobile focuses on providing excellent health care services such as providing immunizations, care for special needs children, asthma treatment, increasing healthy lifestyle awareness, well-child and sick visits, and vision, hearing and developmental screenings. Since no two communities are exactly alike, the Care Mobile can address the most critical childhood health needs in your area. Here's a program that may be useful to families of children with cancer in Alabama, Mississippi and Tennessee:

Cancer is a devastating disease that affects many individuals regardless of their age. Camp Rising Sun understood this and made it their mission to provide a traditional camp experience while recognizing and meeting the health needs of children with cancer.

Camp Rising Sun is a summer camp program located in Columbus, Mississippi that enables children with cancer between the ages of 6 and 16 to attend camp for a week at no charge. The summer camp is open to children living in Alabama, Mississippi, and Southwestern Tennessee who have been or are currently being treated for cancer.

Throughout the camp program children are encouraged to participate in a range of fun activities. A few of the activities offered include: swimming, horseback riding, arts & crafts, boating dances, and a talent show. Parents do not have to worry about their child's physical limitations or endurance because each program offered by Camp Rising Sun respects the challenges and limitations of each individual's capabilities. Camp Rising Sun also has medical staff and personnel on location 24 hours a day. The camp's clinic is staffed by doctors and nurses who are available to administer oral chemotherapy, drug therapy and all other medical treatments.
